John D. Cordell

John D. Cordell brings broad litigation experience to Morris Duffy Alonso Faley & Pitcoff, with a background spanning both plaintiff and defense personal injury, insurance defense, no-fault litigation, criminal defense, premises liability, traffic matters, and unemployment insurance law. His diverse practice history provides him with a comprehensive understanding of litigation strategy from multiple perspectives.

Prior to joining MDAFP, Mr. Cordell handled personal injury defense matters, including premises liability cases for AIG, at Harwood Lloyd PLLC. He previously managed a no-fault insurance department at Peirce & Salvato, PLLC, overseeing matters independently and handling all aspects of litigation. Mr. Cordell also operated his own practice, where he represented clients in criminal defense, traffic court, and personal injury matters, while also providing per diem litigation services.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Cordell represented both plaintiffs and insurance carriers in personal injury and no-fault matters throughout all five boroughs of New York City, as well as Nassau and Suffolk Counties. His experience includes conducting depositions, bench trials, arbitrations, EUOs, motion practice, court appearances, and settlement negotiations. This extensive courtroom and arbitration experience has shaped his practical and strategic approach to insurance defense litigation.
