DORIS RIOS DUFFY joined MDAFP as a partner in 2019.  She has spent her career defending complex personal injury and property damage suits in the New York metropolitan area for major insurance companies.  She has extensive experience in complex matters including products liability, construction/Labor Law, premises liability and trucking in both federal and state court.

• Represented owner and general contractor in various construction accidents claiming personal injury involving the Labor Law and/or alleged defective construction tools and equipment including man lifts, aerial lifts, pile driving, ladders, scaffolds.
• Represented manufacturers/sellers of various products in products liability actions for personal injury and for subrogated claims of property damage concerning alleged defective products Including electric meters, construction piles, child safety gate, security turn style entry way, automatic doors, floor finishing product, drill, oven cleaner, various press machine for small manufacturer, pool liner sealing equipment, foot pedal switch, bicycle, road surface pavement marker, hair dye, hairspray, elastic exercise device, T-ball Practice device
• Represented building owner in negligent security claims including for wrongful death case arising out of shooting, for personal injury including a claimed TBI from a shooting at a club and for a shooting by a building superintendent.
• Obtained dismissal in wrongful death case involving a worker killed by the collapse of a large conveyor system at a waste treatment facility
• Obtained favorable settlement after mediation in a wrongful death action concerning collision between ambulance and motorcycle
• Obtained favorable settlement after mediation in a wrongful death action concerning collision between a bicycle and a large truck
• Obtained favorable settlement after mediation in a wrongful death action concerning a collision between a pedestrian parking ticket agent and a large truck
• Obtained a favorable results at trial in construction accident on behalf of general contractor, in premises liability case concerning alleged defective porch rail, in premises liability case concerning claimed defective sidewalk, in a case concerning an alleged defective trash compactor, in a case involving an alleged defective elevator, in a case alleging a defective road surface.

• Djuric v. Skanska - summary judgment granted In a construction accident concerning a falling object.
