JENNA L. MASTRODDI first joined MDAFP as a paralegal while attending law school. She then transitioned into an attorney position immediately upon passing the New York and New Jersey bar examinations. REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE - Obtained a defendant's verdict on behalf of the the New York Transit Authority in claim alleging that plaintiff had fallen from a bus;
- Obtained a defendant's verdict on behalf of the the New York Transit Authority in claim alleging that plaintiff had been knocked down and dragged by a bus;
- Obtained a defendant's verdict on behalf of MTA Bus Company where a bus passenger alleged a violent fall inside a bus due to the driver’s operation of the bus;
- Obtained 65% liability against plaintiff and a nominal settlement in a rear-end motor vehicle accident tried in a pro-plaintiff venue.
IMPORTANT DECISIONS Hines v. The City of New York, et al., Supreme Court, County of New York - Ms. Mastroddi obtained summary judgment on a publicly acclaimed, disabled athlete's claim of negligence pertaining to the set-up of New York City triathlon race by arguing (1) express assumption of risk; (2) implied assumption of risk, and (3) an inadequate showing of a defective race course. AWARDS Ms. Mastroddi was selected to the 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022 Super Lawyers New York City Metro Area Rising Stars list.
