WILLIAM J. MANNING, JR. has litigated a variety of matters during his career including admiralty/maritime, general liability, contract disputes, trademarks and personal injury. He joined MDAFP in 2012 and became a partner in 2014. Mr. Manning concentrates in all aspects of litigation including slip and fall cases, motor vehicle accidents, burns, Labor Law cases, and premises liability. Mr. Manning has obtained dismissals of cases in a multitude of jurisdictions. Mr. Manning was Director and Senior Counsel at Merrill Lynch & Co. where he represented the firm in hundreds of claims, arbitrations and follow-up regulatory inquiries. Mr. Manning provided compliance, regulatory and litigation advice to private client office management teams and conducted training for management sales personnel in branch offices. Thereafter, Mr. Manning went to private practice wherein he represented individuals, investment bankers, traders, brokers-dealers, managers and others in security industry disputes including arbitration, litigation and enforcement proceedings and mediations. He has tried arbitrations all over the country. Mr. Manning has represented financial advisors before the SEC, at expungement hearings and in administrative proceedings before the Certified Financial Planner Board and has represented Broker-Dealers in ERISA and Taft-Hartley litigation.
