ATHANASIA APOSTOLAKOS was admitted to the New York State bar in 1993, and is also admitted to the U.S. District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Ms. Apostolakos is a graduate of Northeastern University (B.A., 1986) and New York Law School (J.D., 1992). Ms. Apostolakos concentrates her practice in the litigation and defense of complex civil cases, involving liability, indemnification, insurance coverage and damages issues.
Prior to joining Morris Duffy Alonso & Faley, Ms. Apostolakos was a partner at Faust Goetz Schenker & Blee. She has successfully defended individuals and business entities in cases involving premises liability of property owners and tenants, liability of tractor trailer and motor vehicle owners and operators, liability of property owners, employers, general contractors and subcontractors in connection with construction projects, public and private construction contracts and Labor Law matters, as well as liability of product manufacturers, dealers and distributors, wrongful death actions and the claims of spouses and minor children, arson and fraud, subrogation and insurance coverage issues. Ms. Apostolakos has significant trial experience and significant experience working with medical and psychological expert witnesses, engineering and building code experts, complex accident reconstruction, bio-mechanical issues, and economic and vocational rehabilitation analysis.
Ms. Apostolakos began her legal career at the Bronx County District Attorney's Office, serving as an Assistant District Attorney from 1992 to 2000. During her tenure, she served in the trial division as a Major Case and Homicide Trial Assistant District Attorney. Her experience as a former prosecutor has strengthened her ability to investigate and try cases and enables her to work closely and efficiently with law enforcement, investigators, expert and civilian witnesses.
Athanasia is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York Trial Lawyers Association, and the Hellenic Lawyers Association.
